Mehran white rug 200x300

A carpet, in a living room or room, it is often the piece we ask last and that we should have chosen first. It defines an area, anchors the furniture, changes the acoustic and thermal perception of a space. The white mehran carpet in 200 × 300 cm does all that, and it does it with a motive that does not often see in contemporary carpet collections: a surface that evokes a cracked clay, irregular plates of white peeling material, almost Mineral, almost architectural. In wool and cotton, hand made, 3 cm of battery height, 3.3 kg per square meter. This is not the carpet that we go on a gust, the one we ask because something needed under the coffee table. It is a high-end living room mat that is choosing because it has something to say, and we are ready to leave the floor.

A design that immediately attracts the look

Mehran's texture is what makes it immediately different. Seen in close photo, the pattern looks like a mineral surface, a dry land that has been cracked in heat, white material plates slightly raised at the edges, with darker interstices. It is an effect obtained by hand work of the wool and cotton fibers, not by an industrial printing or process. Each carpet area has minor variations, density deviations, irregularities that prevent the eye from getting tired. By far, the whole seems almost monochrome, off-white with light shades. By approaching, the surface reveals its complexity: clearer wires, slightly denser areas, braiding directions that change according to the plates. The battery height of 2 mm is that of a flat carpet, which does not crash under the furniture and does not hold dust like a thick velvet. A mat that is easily maintained and keeps its original appearance long, provided you do not place it in a wet space.

Why choose this model for your interior?

• A unique mineral motif, made by hand: The cracked effect of Mehran is not a textile impression. It is created by the work of the wool and cotton fibers by hand, which means that each carpet is slightly different from the next. A single piece at a unique price.
• 200 × 300 cm to structure a large space: This format covers the central area of a standard size living room, leaves the feet of the sofas. The most balanced composition for a well-proportioned contemporary living room.
• Wool and cotton for real comfort and durability: The wool keeps its shape, withstands the folger and naturally regulates the ambient moisture. Cotton brings clarity and lightness to the white hue. The two together produce a soft touch but not soft, firm but not hard.
• 3.3 kg per square meter for a perfect outfit: A lightweight carpet slides, a dense carpet remains. At this grammage, the Mehran is in place without non-slip underprinum, even on a smooth parquet. A practical detail we appreciate in the first week.
• A white hue that adapts to all pallets: The broken white of the Mehran is not a pure white. He has heat, slightly beige reflections according to the light, which allow him to integrate as well in a white inside and in a hot neutral palette.

In which room install this carpet?

The lounge first, without hesitation, just as the floor is in parquet, waxed concrete or neutral tiled tile. The cracked motif of Mehran reads better on a plain background: on a soil too busy or too dark, it loses part of its readability. This works particularly well is to put it under a composition comprising a sofa with warm tones, a coffee table in stone or ceramic and two chairs in natural fabric. The broken white of the carpet then becomes the visual binder of the room, the one that unifies different stain furniture effortlessly. In an adult room, it can also operate very well asked on a bed on a dark floor: the white hue creates a luminous contrast that visually enlarges the space. On the other hand, it is not made for the pieces with high passage or the spaces with young children: the clear shade and the absence of anti-slip require adapted use. For traffic spaces, it is better to consider another format or other finish of the collection.

An ideal choice for an affirmed decoration

The white mehran carpet is the kind of room that shows to visitors even before they have time to sit down. Not because it shouts, but because it challenges: this cracked motif, these mineral plates in wool and cotton, this surface that looks like a fresco dries as much as a textile, it does not look like anything else in a contemporary living room. And because it is hand made, it has this slight irregularity which definitely distinguishes it from an industrially printed carpet. Its broken white hue is one of those that cross the time without age: it does not stand out because it does not follow any particular trend, it belongs to the register of timeless natural materials. In wool and cotton, it will keep its shape and density much longer than a synthetic carpet, even with regular use. Investing in a carpet of this quality is also investing in the acoustic and thermal comfort of a space, two dimensions that we do not see on a product sheet but that we feel each day while living in the room.
