KARE Design Origami Natural chair

The KARE Design Origami Natural chair is a refined way to frame a dining table in a bright open-plan living and dining area. Its high back flows in a single soft line into the seat, as if a pale beech sheet had been gently bent and folded. The natural beech plywood, kept in a very light tone, catches daylight and visually lightens darker tabletops or floors. Beneath this sculpted shell, four slim tubular chrome legs lift the chair and free the floor, giving space to a rug pattern or herringbone parquet. Around a rectangular table, the chairs draw a clean graphic rhythm without blocking views through the room. In a compact kitchen corner, a pair placed on either side of a small table brings contemporary clarity without appearing bulky, letting you shape a dining zone that remains calm, airy and welcoming.

A folded, weightless silhouette

Seen from any angle, the KARE Design Origami Natural chair has a distinctive yet gentle profile. The backrest is fairly high and subtly faceted, evoking the creases of origami rather than hard geometry. These fine folds catch light and shade, giving depth to the very slim shell without making it look massive. The one-piece beech plywood curves from back to seat in a continuous movement, so there is no visual break between the two parts. The pale natural wood grain stays discreet, adding texture instead of strong contrast. Four slender tubular chrome legs, set slightly splayed, create a feeling of poised stability while remaining visually delicate. Their polished surface reflects surrounding colours and floors, making the legs sometimes almost disappear so the focus stays on the light wooden shell and the overall clarity of the dining area.

Why choose this Origami chair

• Light natural beech plywood instantly brightens dining settings and coordinates effortlessly with white, oak, glass or muted-colour tabletops.
• Subtly faceted high back adds quiet sculptural interest, giving the room character without overwhelming minimal, calm interior schemes.
• Fine tubular chrome legs free up floor space visually, allowing patterned rugs or striking parquet to remain fully visible and appreciated.
• Continuous back-and-seat shell keeps the silhouette streamlined, ideal when several chairs stand close together around compact dining tables.
• Clear mix of timber and chrome bridges Scandinavian, industrial and contemporary pieces, helping unify existing furniture into one coherent ensemble.

Where to place the Origami Natural chair

With its 54 cm width and 48 cm depth, the KARE Design Origami Natural chair fits neatly around most dining tables without crowding walkways. In an open-plan living area, arrange four or six around a rectangular table, keeping enough distance between backs to let the folded lines read clearly. The 81 cm overall height lets the backrests sit above the tabletop without cutting across sightlines towards the sofa zone. In a compact eat-in kitchen, two chairs with a slim table against a wall create a light breakfast spot that doesn’t dominate the room. The open space under the chrome legs keeps narrow rooms from feeling blocked. For a mix-and-match look, you can place one Origami chair at a home office desk and combine it with other designs from our modern chair collection in the dining area.

Maintaining long-term visual harmony

The clear natural tone of the KARE Design Origami Natural chair is an easy, long-lasting base for evolving décor. Pair it with bleached oak or birch tables for a Scandinavian mood, adding linen-textured cushions or table linens in stone, mist blue or warm white to soften the geometry. The chrome legs connect visually to steel lighting, slim metal shelving or stainless elements in the kitchen, so new pieces integrate smoothly over time. If you later swap to a dark-stained or black table, the pale beech shell will stand out crisply while still relating to lighter storage units or wall colours. By updating only the rug, wall art or tableware palette, you can shift the atmosphere from fresh and coastal to urban and graphic, with the Origami chairs acting as calm, neutral anchors in each new arrangement.
