Floor lamp DOG ALLEMAND black dog with black and gold shade IXIA

The Floor lamp DOG ALLEMAND black dog with black and gold shade IXIA turns a functional light into a bold decorative statement. Shaped like a standing dog in glossy black resin, it instantly anchors a corner of the living room beside a sofa or accent chair. The broad black conical shade, lined with warm gold, focuses light downwards to create an intimate pool of glow while the silhouette of the dog remains striking, even when the lamp is off. At 127 cm high, it has the presence of a sculptural piece without overwhelming the room, working particularly well against a plain wall or near a large window. In a hallway, it greets guests with a playful yet elegant touch; in a home office, it brings character near a bookcase, adding a touch of creativity to your working environment.

Striking visual design

This floor lamp stands out through its animal-inspired architecture: a tall dog figure with long, rectangular ears that sharpen the overall outline. The glossy black resin body reflects ambient light, adding subtle highlights along the sculpted back, legs and muzzle. A flat, discreet base visually grounds the piece, allowing the dog’s posture and proportions to remain the focus. Above, the generous black conical shade introduces a strong geometric counterpoint to the organic curves of the animal. From certain angles, the lamp reads as a totemic silhouette, from others, the playful details of the dog become more apparent. The gold interior of the shade is partially concealed, hinting at the warm glow it will cast when lit. With its 127 cm height, 45 cm length and 40 cm width, the lamp balances vertical presence and floor footprint, making it suitable for both compact and more open spaces.

• Flat base and vertical silhouette sit comfortably beside sofas, armchairs or consoles, visually framing and enhancing nearby furniture pieces.
• Statement floor lamp that can stand alone as a focal point or complement other pieces from the wider floor lamp collection.

Where to place this lamp

The Floor lamp DOG ALLEMAND works best where its silhouette can be appreciated from several angles. Place it beside a straight-lined sofa, leaving enough distance so the dog figure remains fully visible and the conical shade clears the armrest. In a hallway, set it near a console table, where its vertical posture balances the horizontal surface and guides the eye along the space. In a bedroom, position it near a reading chair rather than tight to the bed, allowing the shade to cast a pool of light while the dog’s profile decorates an empty corner. For open-plan rooms, use it as a marker between lounge and dining zones, orienting the dog slightly toward the seating area. To coordinate your layout, you can pair it with other designs from the dedicated floor lamp category without crowding its strong character.

Long-term decorative coherence

To ensure long-lasting visual harmony, think of this lamp as a sculptural anchor around which other pieces can move and evolve. Its glossy black resin works particularly well with light woods, textured rugs and soft neutral fabrics, creating contrast without heaviness. The gold lining of the shade invites the addition of small golden or brass accents on picture frames, coffee tables or handles, tying the composition together. Over time, if you rearrange furniture, maintain a calm backdrop behind the dog figure so its outline remains legible: plain white, soft greys or deep single-tone walls all highlight its presence. Introduce one or two other black elements, such as a side table or graphic print, to echo the lamp and keep the room feeling intentional. Because it reads as both artwork and lighting, it can migrate between living room, hallway and office while preserving a consistent decorative language.
