Gray Marbled Arc Side Table Denizly

The Denizly Collection has built its identity on a clear logic: even Guangxi marble with gray veins, even consistency of ground material at the plateau, even sculptural presence with each format. This side table is the most concentrated expression. To 35 × 35 cm of footprint for 60 cm high, it is the most compact piece of the collection, and perhaps the most amazing. Its volume is that of a full parallelepiped, fully covered with veined Guangxi marble, with a single ark in the hanger dug in its facade. This arch is useless functionally: it does not structure, do not wear, do nothing. It exists for one reason: Transform what could have been a simple block in something that looks like a miniature architectural ruin, a piece of Roman facade posed in a contemporary living room. 59 kg, 7 cm thick tray, made by hand. A high-end side table that is also a sculpted decorative piece, and which fully assumes this double nature.

A design that immediately attracts the look

The first reading of this side table is that of a full volume: a rectangular block of veined marble, 35 × 35 cm base, 60 cm high, with this plate of 7 cm thick perfectly legible partially. The second reading arrives when you look at the facade: an ark in the hanger, deep, dug in the marble on the entire height of the block under the plateau. This ark changes everything. It transforms full volume into two-sided objects, with an architectural facade and a smooth back, an inner shadow area and an outer surface. The gray veins of the Guangxi marble are vertically running on the lateral amounts of the arch, creating a striation effect that further reinforces the impression of a natural stone carved in the mass. At 59 kg for 35 × 35 cm, the density of material is palpable: it is immediately understood that it is not a hollow object covered with a coating, but something that has weight, mass, real physical presence.

Why choose this model for your interior?

• An arch carved in the facade, an architectural reference assumed: This arch is not decorative in the superficial sense of the term: it is constitutive of the identity of the room. It is she who passes this extra table of the furniture status with sculptural object status, with all that this implies in terms of presence and singularity in a space.
• 35 × 35 cm of footprint for a high character side table: This compactness is a quality. It allows to place the table in spaces where a 60 cm deep side table of depth would not find its place, while offering a visual impact without a common measure with its format.
• 60 cm high for use in sitting or standing position: At this height, the Denizly Table works as well next to a standard armchair as in the end of sofa. It is even high enough to play the role of a bedside table in a room with elevated bed.
• 7 cm thick plateau, the thickest after the console: Over 35 cm wide, this tray thickness produces a particularly affirmed material-format ratio. The Denizly table does not seem light: it has mass, visible and perceptible, which justifies the choice of a real natural marble.
• Total consistency with the rest of the Denizly collection: Even Guangxi marble with gray veins, same architectural treatment with reference to arches, even monolithic logic. This extra table naturally integrates into a space that already has other Denizly parts, by taking up their formal vocabulary on a reduced scale.

In which room install this side table?

Its compactness and sculptural character make it one of the most versatile extra tables in the collection. In a living room, placed next to a lounge chair or at the end of the sofa, it occupies little room on the ground but a lot in the eyes: the facade ark captures the attention and creates an unexpected focal point in a composition that often needs it. This works particularly well, it is to stage it with a low light positioned on or before it: the light enters the arch and creates a deep shadow area inside, which still accentuates the sculptural dimension of the room. In an adult room, it can work as an architectural bedside table, with just what it takes on: a fine lamp, a book, a glass of water. Its Guangxi marble surface accepts a hot cup without particular treatment. In a generous corridor or an entrance, placed alone against a wall with some objects on the ground, it works as a scenography rather than a service furniture, which is not always a role to underestimate.

An ideal choice for an affirmed decoration

The Denizly Side Table is one of these rare pieces that operate at several levels simultaneously. Service cabinet, it is at the right height, at the right size, with good load capacity. Decorative object, it has this lamp carved in the facade which gives it a personality that no ordinary side table can claim. Coloring room, it is part of a formal coherence and material with the rest of the Denizly range that gives it even more meaning in an interior thought. Guangxi's marble lives well, as always with natural stones that have material. The gray veins may take slightly more depth over time, the clearest areas will be imperceptibly skating, and the table will always be there, always just, always able to generate the same question on the part of the visitors: what is exactly? It is often the sign of the best things.
