Table lamp CARRARA white marble base Villeroy & Boch

The table lamp CARRARA white marble base Villeroy & Boch is a compact, sculptural accent piece, perfect on a bedside table, a slim console or a corner of your desk. Its design pairs a tapered white marble base with a tiny glowing glass sphere, creating a gentle pool of light rather than a dominating beam. In a bedroom, it softly frames the headboard and supports late-night reading; in a living room, it highlights a decorative object on a sideboard or end table. Placed in an entryway, it offers a welcoming glow that orients you without overwhelming the space. The small footprint leaves room for books, trays or personal items around it, while the calm white palette ties easily into many interiors. Whether used alone as a subtle focal point or as part of a pair to punctuate a long surface, this lamp quietly structures your lighting landscape.

Visual design and luminous character

The CARRARA lamp’s appeal lies in the dialogue between a rounded glass globe and a slender conical base. The mini sphere of white glass acts as a soft diffuser, spreading a milky, atmospheric light that smooths contrasts. Beneath it, the tapered base in white marble effect rises like a delicate column, slightly widening towards the bottom to ensure visual stability. The subtle veining of the marble effect introduces a natural, almost architectural note, while the glossy globe above adds lightness. Proportions are intentionally modest: height and diameter remain compact, making the lamp suitable for narrow shelves, window sills or crowded worktops. Seen from the side, the silhouette forms a refined profile where the globe seems to rest effortlessly on the cone’s summit, almost like a small contemporary sculpture. From above, the circular footprint reinforces the clean, geometric reading of the object within your décor.

Why choose this lamp

• Ultra-compact footprint fits comfortably on small bedside tables, narrow consoles or shelves already populated with books, frames and decorative objects.
• Elegant contrast between opal glass globe and white marble-effect base, combining visual softness above with graphic, mineral-inspired structure below.
• Creates a gentle, enveloping glow ideal for evening relaxation, background lighting during conversations, or a calm atmosphere while watching television.
• Sculptural globe-on-cone silhouette looks decorative even when switched off, offering a discreet design statement rather than a purely functional object.
• Neutral white tones coordinate easily with wood, concrete, coloured textiles or black metal accents, supporting future changes in furniture and accessories.

Where this lamp works best

Thanks to its diminutive size, the CARRARA table lamp excels in places where larger lighting feels intrusive. On a bedside table, position it slightly towards the back and side, leaving space for a book and glass of water while keeping the glow directed towards the pillow. On a sideboard, place it at one end to visually anchor vases or framed photos beside it. It also works beautifully on a hallway console, guiding your steps without flooding the corridor. On a desk, allocate a corner for the lamp to create a cosy zone distinct from the main work area. If you are planning a coordinated lighting scheme, explore our wider selection in the contemporary table lamp collection to pair this model with complementary pieces throughout your home. With its modest 13 cm height and narrow 7 cm diameter footprint, it also fits neatly on a slim window ledge or shelf corner alongside small decorative objects.

Lasting decorative coherence

The CARRARA lamp’s combination of white glass and marble effect makes it a reliable anchor for long-term decorating plans. Its neutral colouring harmonises with pale woods, soft greys, muted greens or deep navy, allowing many future paint or textile choices. To create a cohesive look, repeat one of its tones elsewhere: a white photo frame, a marble tray or cushions echoing its gentle light. The rounded globe pairs naturally with other curved elements such as circular mirrors, arched shelves or rounded sofa arms. Over time, you can shift the lamp between rooms—bedroom to living room to hallway—while maintaining visual continuity. By grouping it with a few carefully chosen objects that share its calm geometry and restrained palette, you build a lighting vignette that continues to feel deliberate and harmonious as your interior evolves.
