Table lamp TOKIO clear glass Villeroy & Boch

The Table lamp TOKIO clear glass Villeroy & Boch turns even the smallest surface into a discreet light scene. Placed on a slim hallway console, a compact bedside table or the corner of a sideboard, it draws the eye with its round clear-glass globe and exposed bulb. The transparent sphere seems to float above a short gold-tone metal base that grounds the design without visually weighing it down. With its modest 24 cm height and 20 cm diameter, this lamp slips easily into spaces where a floor lamp or large shade would feel overpowering. It creates gentle ambient light that glows around nearby objects, ideal for adding atmosphere rather than direct task lighting. Whether your interior leans minimalist, contemporary or eclectic, TOKIO works as a small luminous accent that accompanies everyday rituals—welcoming you home in the entrance or softly outlining your favourite decorative pieces in the living room.

Visual design and character

The Table lamp TOKIO clear glass Villeroy & Boch stands out through its pure spherical globe, made entirely from clear glass. This round volume occupies almost the full height, so the lamp reads visually as a luminous bubble perched on a compact base. Inside, the visible bulb becomes part of the composition, introducing a graphic vertical line and a warm focal point at the centre of the sphere. The transparent glass reveals every element yet keeps the ensemble light and unobtrusive, allowing surrounding colours and textures to remain prominent. The short cylindrical base in gold-coloured metal adds a small but decisive contrast: solid against airy, metallic against crystal-clear. Its warm reflection subtly tints the lower part of the globe, giving the lamp a precious, refined note. With a 20 cm diameter, the globe feels generous enough to make a statement, while the low overall profile preserves easy placement on crowded shelves or narrow furniture.

Where to place it at home

Lasting decorative balance

The Table lamp TOKIO clear glass Villeroy & Boch is an easy companion for interiors that evolve over time. Its transparent globe naturally pairs with many materials: pale wood for a bright Scandinavian mood, dark wood for a more intimate feel, or glossy lacquer for a contemporary edge. The gold metal base resonates subtly with brass, bronze and warm metallic details already present in handles, mirrors or small objects. Because the design is visually light, it supports furniture rearrangements without ever dominating a composition. You can shift it from entrance to bedroom or office while keeping a coherent thread in your decor. Varying the bulb style offers additional flexibility: a simple clear bulb for a crisp graphic effect, or a tinted one for warmer atmospheres. Whatever the surrounding palette—neutrals, deep colours or mixed tones—TOKIO acts as a calm, luminous connector tying different corners of your home together.
