Dining table SCHICKERIA walnut look, black base KARE Design

The dining table SCHICKERIA walnut look, black base KARE Design is a compact statement piece designed to anchor a small dining zone. Its round dark-wood top and sculptural black pedestal turn an everyday meal into a carefully framed moment, whether you place it in a city apartment living room or a bright kitchen corner. The 80 by 80 cm surface is generous enough for two to three place settings, a carafe and a few essentials, yet remains visually light. Positioned near a plain wall or under a pendant light, the contrast between walnut effect and black base draws the eye without overwhelming the room. This table suits interiors where you want a warm, design-led centrepiece that does not dominate the floor plan, creating a clear, intimate circle for coffee breaks, laptop work or relaxed dinners.

Striking modern silhouette

The SCHICKERIA dining table stands out through a simple, well-balanced geometry. The round MDF top with walnut-look finish displays a deep, even grain that evokes classic, dark wood furniture while keeping a contemporary, clean edge. Its compact diameter forms a precise circle that visually pulls the surrounding chairs together. Beneath, the black steel pedestal rises in a trumpet shape before widening into a solid circular base, echoing the top’s outline. This single central support removes visual clutter from the floor, letting the forms breathe. The strong contrast between the dark wood tone and the matte black base creates a graphic vertical line from top to ground. Overall, the table feels like a modern riff on mid-century tulip designs, with slightly sharper proportions and a more pronounced dialogue between the warm surface and the architectural base.

Why choose this table

• Compact round top defines a clear dining area, ideal for small apartments that still demand a visually strong and welcoming centrepiece.
• Walnut-look surface adds warmth and depth, balancing the bold, architectural presence of the black pedestal in contemporary interiors.
• Central tulip-style base frees up legroom and simplifies chair placement, avoiding awkward corner legs around a limited floor area.
• 80 × 80 cm format suits two to three place settings, efficiently using space in studio flats, eat-in kitchens or compact dining nooks.
• Graphic silhouette coordinates easily with other pieces from our curated designer dining tables selection to build a coherent modern look.

Where this table works best

The SCHICKERIA walnut-look table is particularly effective where you want to mark out a dining spot without blocking movement. In a kitchen-living room layout, position it slightly offset from the sofa so that the round top forms a soft transition between cooking and lounging zones. In a narrow room, place one edge closer to the wall and keep the opposite side more open for chairs and circulation. Its 80 cm footprint suits a light rug that closely follows the circular base, subtly framing the area without adding bulk. Beside a window, the dark top will gain reflections and nuances, while the black pedestal remains a calm vertical accent. For a small home office corner, it doubles neatly as a work table. To extend the idea to other rooms, explore our range of modern dining and side tables for complementary silhouettes.

Lasting visual harmony

To secure long-term decorative coherence around the SCHICKERIA table, think in terms of repeating its key elements rather than copying them exactly. The walnut-look surface pairs beautifully with other dark-wood accents, but keeping them to a few targeted pieces—such as a sideboard top or picture frame—prevents heaviness. Echo the black pedestal through slim black metal legs on chairs, a minimalist floor lamp, or framed artwork, so the table feels naturally integrated. Over time, you can shift styles simply by changing textiles: linen seat pads for a relaxed mood, leather for a sharper, modern tone. Neutral walls let the dark top stand out, while muted greens, greys or terracottas will underline its warmth. Because its form is so clearly defined—a circle above a circle—the table adapts gracefully to new layouts if you rearrange furniture, remaining a stable, elegant focal point.
