Coffee table IXIA gunmetal steel and two glass shelves IXIA

The Coffee table IXIA gunmetal steel and two glass shelves instantly anchors a seating area with its long, low, architectural presence. Placed in front of a large fabric or leather sofa, it creates a clear zone for everyday gestures: setting down drinks, arranging books, or displaying a sculptural vase. The open gunmetal steel frame traces a clean rectangle on the floor, while the two glass levels organise objects without visually blocking the rug beneath. The clear top keeps the composition light, whereas the darker lower shelf naturally gathers magazines and remote controls. In a living room with generous space, it stretches confidently along the sofa; in a more compact lounge, its transparency helps maintain a sense of openness. Whether your decor leans industrial, contemporary or quietly elegant, this table slides in with ease and becomes the geometric focal point around which armchairs and pouffes fall into place.

Visual design and character

This coffee table is defined by its elongated, horizontal silhouette, supported by a frame of squared gunmetal steel bars. The structure forms a precise open rectangle, with vertical uprights and slim crosspieces that keep the eye moving along its length. The top shelf in clear tempered glass fits neatly within this metal outline, resulting in a flat, seamless surface that feels almost weightless. Beneath it, a second tempered glass shelf in a darker, smoked tone mirrors the same proportions, like a shaded reflection of the upper level. The contrast between the bright transparency above and the deeper tone below adds visual depth and quietly emphasises the table’s two functions: display and storage. The gunmetal finish introduces a sophisticated grey with a soft sheen, more understated than chrome yet clearly contemporary. Overall, the table reads as a low, graphic line in the room, perfectly suited to aligning with generous sofas and broad rugs.

Why this coffee table stands out

• Generous length offers ample surface in front of larger sofas, while the low height maintains clear sightlines across the living room.
• Gunmetal steel frame introduces a refined dark metallic accent, pairing easily with both cool greys and warmer natural tones.
• Two distinct glass levels separate display and storage, keeping the top uncluttered while the smoked lower shelf discreetly hides everyday items.
• Open rectangular structure allows the rug and flooring to remain visible, preventing the centre of the room from feeling heavy or overcrowded.
• Clean, rectilinear lines adapt to multiple interior styles, from minimalist and industrial to more eclectic arrangements mixing wood, textiles and metal.

Where it works best at home

With its 134 cm length and 73.5 cm depth, the IXIA coffee table is ideal in front of a three-seater or corner sofa, leaving comfortable circulation around it. In a rectangular living room, align it with the sofa and TV unit to create a strong central axis. In a square room, centre it on a generous rug, then place two armchairs opposite the sofa to form a balanced conversation zone. Use the smoked lower shelf for books, boxes or baskets so the clear top stays free for trays, candles or decorative objects. For very large spaces, consider pairing it with a side table from our broader selection of low tables to create layered surfaces. Near a window, its transparent volumes avoid blocking light, and alongside a low media cabinet, it visually extends the horizontal line that structures the space.

Long-term decorative coherence

To build lasting visual harmony around this table, take its three core elements as a guide: gunmetal steel, clear glass and smoked glass. Combine them with tactile materials such as a woven rug, linen upholstery or a leather armchair to soften the strong geometry. A palette of soft greys, off-white, sand, ink blue or deep green will echo the subtle darkness of the lower shelf without feeling heavy. Over time, you can reconfigure your seating or change textiles while the table remains a stable, graphic anchor. Its neutral structure works with both slim metal floor lamps and wooden storage pieces, tying them together through contrasting textures. By limiting very bright colours on the tabletop and favouring a few carefully chosen objects, you preserve a calm central composition that can evolve gracefully as cushions, curtains and artwork change around it.
