Extendable dining table IXIA dark grey ceramic and black legs

The extendable dining table IXIA dark grey ceramic and black legs turns a simple dining area into a structured, contemporary focal point. Its rectangular top with softly rounded corners finds its place at the heart of an open-plan living space, aligned with a pendant light or positioned near a window to capture natural light on the ceramic surface. Closed, it offers generous everyday comfort; extended, it welcomes larger gatherings without feeling overwhelming. The dark grey, stone-like appearance brings a refined, architectural touch that pairs well with plain upholstered chairs, metal frames or warm wooden seats. Underneath, the branching black metal legs create a strong graphic statement while leaving the long sides accessible. This balance between visual presence and practical comfort makes the table suitable for family dinners, work sessions, or festive evenings, always anchoring the room with a calm, modern energy.

Visual design and overall look

The extendable dining table IXIA dark grey ceramic and black legs is built around a long rectangular top whose rounded corners soften its generous size. The dark grey ceramic, laid over glass, has a subtle stone effect, with deep mineral tones that evoke contemporary architectural surfaces. A discreet seam indicates the extension zone, hinting at the table’s transformation without breaking the visual flow. The top appears slim yet substantial, giving it a poised, balanced profile when viewed from the side. Below, the black metal legs split into angled branches, meeting the floor on a wide stance that feels both stable and dynamic. Their oblique lines introduce movement and contrast with the calm, flat plane of the top. The dialogue between the dark ceramic and the matte black base creates a cohesive, modern look that integrates easily into minimalist, industrial-inspired or warm, design-led interiors.

Why choose this table

• Extendable rectangular top moving from everyday family meals to large dinners, without permanently occupying excessive floor space in your dining area.
• Dark grey ceramic stone-effect surface offers a sophisticated, architectural look that coordinates easily with neutral or boldly coloured dining chairs.
• Branching black metal legs free up the long sides for comfortable seating, while adding a strong graphic statement under the slim top.
• Rounded corners visually soften the table’s generous proportions, making it feel more welcoming and fluid in central, walk-through positions.
• Combination of ceramic, glass and metal suits many contemporary interiors and complements other pieces from our modern dining table collection.

Where to place it in your home

In a main dining room, place the extendable dining table IXIA in the centre, ensuring comfortable clearance around it so guests can move comfortably when the extension is in use. Align it beneath a linear pendant or a pair of lamps to emphasise its length. In an open-plan living space, position the table parallel to the sofa to clearly mark out the dining zone, allowing the black legs to echo other dark accents like shelving or window frames. Near a kitchen, place it perpendicular to an island to create a visual axis that lengthens the room. A low-pile rug slightly larger than the 90 cm width can frame the table without hindering chairs. Explore our wider range of dining tables to select complementary pieces that support your chosen layout. The surrounding path remains easy to navigate.

Long-term decorative coherence

For lasting visual harmony with the extendable dining table IXIA dark grey ceramic and black legs, build your scheme around a family of mineral and warm tones. Pair the dark grey top with oak or light-wood chairs to soften its architectural feel, or choose black-framed seating to intensify the graphic dialogue with the base. Textiles such as rugs and curtains in sand, linen beige or soft greys will create layered contrast without competing with the strong table silhouette. Over time, you can refresh the setting simply by changing chair colours—deep green, rust, mustard or ink blue all sit comfortably against the dark ceramic. Add a sideboard with clean lines and discreet black details to echo the legs and keep the space visually unified, even if you later rearrange furniture or switch decorative accents on the walls and shelves.
